Exclusive Canadian performance by Diary of Dreams! German synth-rock/electronic act, initially formed in 1989 as a dark wave/gothic rock band. After five albums the band changed their musical style drastically, adding elements of future pop and dance music, and harsh guitar riffs. Eden is no place. Eden is a machine – so it says in the beginning of the liner notes to the 13th album by Diary of Dreams. If you thought you could grasp the lyrical contents of “hell in Eden” with a quick glance, these words prove differently and offer a first taste of the actual scope. Musically, “hell in Eden” is as energetic and monumental as no other Diary album has ever been before, but at the same time, it is also warm, dark and fragile. It touches you from the very first note and builds up a fantasy world in your head, tempting you to lose yourself completely in its magic. Adrian Hates has come up with another masterpiece: 13 incredibly intense and emotional hymns in a wide variety of moods and colors come together to make up a very special conceptual work with clear milestone potential. Stealing elements of EBM, synthpop and industrial, nTTx completes this sonic landscape with strong, melodic vocals, that range from soft and delicate, to powerfully commanding. nTTx is the solo project of Gord Clement (Toronto,Canada). nTTx’s first single, ‘Falls Beautiful’ with a b-side Depeche Mode cover was released independently in May 2015. The single spent 4 weeks in the top 15 on the German Electronic Webcharts (GEWC). The song received critical acclaim from the press with descriptions like “master work” and “features slightly reminiscent of Nitzer Ebb or Spetsnaz mixed with groups like Depeche Mode”. This success resulted in being signed to Wax Trax II Records, and the release of his debut EP ‘Objective’ in April 2016. The EP received high praise from the press. His second EP ‘Of Beauty and Chaos’ was released in July 2017 and the single ‘MoveDark’ reached the top 15 of the German Electronic Webcharts. A video for the song was also shot, directed and edited by Clement.
The Greatest Fear: The Greatest Fear is a NYC based Avant Goth Noise Art project with elements of classical music, intellectualized metal and technology. The brainchild of composer and music technology performance artist Jane Saunders, The Greatest Fear, explores the commonality of ritual in music, man’s attachment to the sacred and profane, and alienation as themes which are juxtaposed against subsumed geometrical rhythms, somnolent strings and abstract guitars. Saunders, earned the highest departmental honors for her research and performance in music technology while earning her Masters of Music in Studio Composition from the Purchase Conservatory of Music. Partnering with the Staten Island MakerSpace, a non-profit, education and community center to create a mixed media art installation entitled An Agitated Earth. The installation was on display at both the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (Abrons Arts Center), as a Virtual Reality Art Installation, as well as the 9th annual World Maker Faire at the New York hall of Science. Jane has scored music for movies including Rose’s Children (starring Rutanya Alda The Deer Hunter, Amityville Horror II, Mommy Dearest), Forgetting Sandy Glass (starring Gaia Matisse),The Nothing, and Still. Joined by her husband and studio musician, Brian Saunders, The Greatest Fear is currently supporting their sophomore effort, These Words Are A Vessel, recorded by Joey Z (Life Of Agony/Carnivore/Stereomud) at his Nest Studios in Brooklyn, NY.
